Nuit Blanche Fly by Night o'honey collective.
As o'honey collective, David and I constructed and installed a 12' wide nest made from willow. The soundtrack embedded into the nest was of two people discussing how to place furniture in an apartment. Inspired by the emergence of 'web cams' documenting the lives and environments of birds and mammals, we flipped the narrative to that of humans.
Outside of the room, David and I sat on chairs with notebooks and documented the comings and goings of people, using scientific descriptions such as 'person helps small child into the nest' and 'woman dances around the nest then takes nap'. Over 1000 people interacted with the nest from dusk till dawn. After it's use in The Thames Art Gallery re:inhabit exhibition, the remains of this installation was returned to the forest, with the scientific diaries and photographs used to document the experience remaining in our collection.
