vibrotactile/soundworks

For the past few years I have been working on the creation of handheld ceramic works that incorporate sound and vibration. (vibratactile).
I am looking for ways to expand the possibilities of the ceramic hand held objects I create.

One of three original handheld pieces, the piece you see here incorporates a transducer to create the vibratactile element. The students in the above video are reacting to the feeling of a heartbeat that the transducer creates and the sound of whales calling to each other. The sound piece is integral to the shape of the object and visa versa.

The piece above is one of a few new experiments I am doing with 'analog' sound pieces.
The above work is created so that when it is rocking it creates the sound of a heartbeat.
